An English Pilgrimage will be an outward journey through some of the most beautiful countryside in all of England. We’ll be visiting magnificent cathedrals and picturesque parish churches during that loveliest of times, an English spring. Our pilgrimage will be a journey inward as well, a journey to deepen and renew our faith. Our hope is that this will be a richly creative enterprise for us all. We agree with theologian Richard Niebuhr that “pilgrims are poets who create by taking journeys.”
We’ll journey to some of the most beloved sites in England, but we’ll also visit many hidden gems that most tourists never see. We’ll explore charming out-of-the-way chapels and churches associated with such spiritual giants as John Wesley, George Herbert, and C.S. Lewis. We hope to keep the pace leisurely and relaxed, allowing time for individual prayer and meditation at the sites we visit.
Registration will be limited to 35 participants. Those who register before June 15 receive a $100 price reduction. You’re invited to an informational meeting at Trinity Episcopal Church, 275 East Spain Street, Sonoma, California, at 7:00 pm on Sunday May 25. You also may contact us at (707) 938-4846 or snbrannon@aol.com.
